Texture Synthesis using TSVQ and Target Re-synthesis

چکیده
This paper presents a simple texture synthesis method that is fast, efficient, and optimized. Given an input texture, the algorithm will synthesize a texture image of specified size by matching output image pixel neighborhoods with input pixel neighborhoods. The pixel-neighborhood matching will be aided by the use of a TreeStructured Vector Quantization (TSVQ) method which will allow the algorithm to avoid exhaustively searching the input image pixels. TSVQ method allows the algorithm to construct a binary tree that will serve as a codeword for the pixel types in the input image. Re-synthesis will be performed on output textures a number of times to measure its effectiveness as an optimizing option. The presented method combines ideas of synthesis by example with a fast texturing algorithm.

Antipole Clustering for Fast Texture Synthesis
This paper describes a new method for analysis/synthesis of textures using a non-parametric multi-resolution approach able to reproduce efficiently the generative stochastic process of a wide class of real texture images. This is realized through a new data structure the Antipole Tree and a suitable research strategy able to outperform both the classical linear full-search heuristic and the TSV...
متن کاملHybrid Texture Synthesis
Patch-based texture synthesis algorithms produce reasonable results for a wide variety of texture classes. They preserve global structure, but often introduce unwanted visual artifacts along patch boundaries. Pixel-based synthesis algorithms, on the other hand, tend to blur out small objects while maintaining a consistent texture impression, which in return doesn’t necessarily resemble the inpu...
متن کاملProject Progress Report
I have finished implementation of some traditional texture synthesis algorithms: pixel-based [EL99] and patch-based [EF01]. The first one, as well known is quite slow. I tested some perspective texture samples with these algorithms, as shown in Fig 1 and Fig 2. It is obvious that the textures of different scales are mixed together. This is just a shortcoming of traditional algorithms. I have ne...

It is a unique approach for steganography using a reversible texture synthesis where rather than using existing image the algorithm will create new texture image using source texture and embeds message by texture synthesis process. The new image with similar appearance can be re-created by using texture synthesis process. The size of new image can be user specified. The important concept behind...
متن کاملTexture Synthesis with Prioritized Pixel Re-synthesis
In this paper, we propose a new patch-based texture synthesis method. The core of the proposed method consists of two main components: (1) a feature-weighted similarity measurement to search for the best match and (2) a dynamically prioritized-based pixel re-synthesis to reduce discontinuity at the boundary of adjacent patches. Examples and experimental comparisons with other previous methods a...
